A Magical Birthday
Hi hi hi everyone!!! How the heck are you?! I've missed you all! What better day to come back to this wonderful space, than on my day of birth!? If you've known me a while, you know I like to celebrate my birthday all. month. long. Lucky for me, I got to experience something I've been waiting to since I was 10. Yup, you heard me right, folks. My 10 year old self's dreams came true: I got to visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter to ring in the last of my 20's (!!!!).
We mostly just walked around and surveyed everything - their attention to detail is phenomenal. As I walked around, my admiration of J.K. Rowling grew exponentially: from very humble beginnings, she worked her butt off, pushed past creative fear, and literally made her dreams come true.
Last week I got to talk to some students about moving past creative fear. I can't imagine how terrified Rowling must have felt when she sent her first draft of HP out into the world. Of course, it was famously rejected time and time again. But NOW... a theme park exists because she decided to put her words onto paper. She certainly did not let creative fear (or rejection, for that matter) get the best of her.
How freaking inspiring.
Anyway, below are some shots from the day. Even my Tia got to join in on the fun, as she was visiting all the way from Guadalajara, Jalisco!
I can't wait to see what the year leading up to my 30th birthday has in store. I feel like it's going to be a big one.
Thanks for reading, sticking along with me, and encouraging me to bring my own words to life. I love you all! Xo
