Have a Restful Weekend!

Have a Restful Weekend!

What are you up to this weekend, you guys? It's oddly gloomy and rainy in the desert. I used to really hate this weather - but rainy days have been so rare lately that I have fallen in love with them. Plus, who can resist the smell of rain (did you know there is a word for it!?). I have a couple of play-dates at the park planned for the little. She loves being outdoors. I am also going to try to make it to one of those Barre classes I mentioned the other day. My preferred dance method has always been tap, but I do love dance in all of its forms, and appreciate the beauty of sore muscles after a session at the barre. Wish me luck!

'Til then, here are some fun links from around the web.

This photographer wanted to capture an honest portrait of working moms in America

I wanted to make photos that showed the way I thought, the people I knew who reflected my own experience with it. We love our children and we are engaged with them but we are also engaged with the world. Those things can inform each other.

I love reading to Ximena. But sometimes she is not about that life. Here are some tips for reading to a squirmy baby

Speaking of reading, here are some anti-princess books that give young grils badass Latina heroines to look up to. <3

Why Disneyland why. You're killing me.

I don't do rompers as a general rule. But I saw this one in store, and thought "Hm, I could rock that."
