¡Hola y bienvenida! My name is Esperanza, which is Spanish for hope. I am named after two fierce ladies: my grandma and my mama. A year and a half ago, I had the privilege of welcoming my own fierce lady into the world. We named her Ximena Esperanza (yes, the fourth!).
I am a Chicana feminist, activist, and writer. My work can be found on Nationally renown sites like Fusion, Adios Barbie, and A Practical Wedding. I am a community organizer; throughout my career, I have had the privilege to protect the rights of women, youth, people of color, and other marginalized communities. I started Hello Esperanza so that I could more intimately explore the complexities of feminism, motherhood, and the beauty of my culture.
I spend my free time outdoors with my warrior baby, laughing with my husband, making yummy Mexican food & desserts, and wearing all the fabulous red lipstick. I look forward to sharing the magic that surrounds my life, and also hear about yours. Thanks for following along!
